Powder coating line modernization enabling frequent colour changes

For NEVA, a company operating in the shading technology sector, we carried out the modernization and expansion of its existing powder coating line. The main objective of the project was to enable more frequent colour changes while minimizing their impact on the coating line’s production capacity.

Project description

One of the key parts of the modernization was the installation of a new powder coating booth. It is equipped with a new final filter with extraction capacity controlled by a frequency converter and a new cyclone with a container for recycled powder.

The solution also includes a blow-off booth connected to the central extraction system and a new CO₂ fire suppression system. The new technology creates the conditions for more efficient operation with frequent colour changes.

Expansion of the line with a second curing oven

Another important part of the project was the addition of a second curing oven. Following the changes to the technology layout, we expanded the conveyor system and added new rotating junctions and a transfer section through the new curing oven.

The modernization also includes two extracted zones for natural cooling of the workpieces, a new lifting device and the necessary load-bearing steel structures.

The line can process workpieces with dimensions of up to 1,000 × 6,000 × 1,500 mm.

New HiVision control system for the entire coating line

The modernization also included the installation of a new central HiVision control system, including a new power switchboard. The control system connects the individual technological sections of the coating line and provides clear and convenient operation and monitoring.

Ready for future robotization

The modernization was designed with the future development of the operation in mind. The upgraded coating line and the new coating booth are ready for the future integration of a robotic application.

The result is a modernized powder coating line that provides the customer with greater flexibility for colour changes, more efficient use of production capacity and scope for further automation of the coating process.
