Rising demand and dependency on suppliers prompted the client to acquire their own paint line. The complete paint shop project, including extensive construction modifications, featured robotic application and a seven-stage chemical pre-treatment for painting brake calipers.

Project description

The new paint line includes a 7-stage chemical pre-treatment for aluminum calipers and dehydrogenation furnaces for cast iron calipers. The line features a plastic booth for quick color changes with robotic painting and a stainless steel booth for manual painting of samples, short series, or repairs.

The painting process is completed in a curing oven with indirect heating, followed by a cooling tunnel for massive parts. The entire paint shop is enclosed in a so-called clean room and has its own ventilation system.

The design and delivery of the paint line also included essential accessories such as custom hanging and masking techniques. Today, the line operates in a three-shift system and meets some of the strictest requirements for surface treatment quality.
